6th Annual LeRoy Cross Country Invitational

At Hartwood Park

Saturday October 6, 2007

10:00- modified girls race

10:20 – modified boys race

10:40 – JV boys race

11:15 – Varsity girls race

12:00 – Varsity boys race

* We added additional time between races so coaches are not rushed between races – this should allow time to get results tabulated much quicker for the awards ceremony.

Awards:                      The 5 runners on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams will receive specialized t-shirts for both Varsity races. These shirts replace the traditional team trophy and allow each member of the team to take home their own piece of the trophy. Medals will be awarded to 1-10th overall place in all races and ribbons will be awarded after that.

Course:                       The Varsity course is 3.1 miles of mostly trails and some playing fields. The course itself is the same as 2005, including a nice section of wood chip trails that run through the woods. The course is fast and flat, and provides an excellent opportunity for runners to get a great time.

Facilities:                    Bathroom facilities are available, with limited changing room. A well stocked concession stand will also be selling T-Shirts (different from those handed out in the awards ceremony).

Teams:                        Teams will be from mainly Class “C” and “D” schools.

Entry Fee:                   Checks or vouchers should be made payable to LeRoy Central School District

$65.00 per School (maximum) for entry in all races

                                                                        OR

$10.00 per runner for incomplete teams

Directions:                  Hartwood Park is the school’s athletic facilities located on South Street in LeRoy.

South Street is on the east end of the village off route 5 (Main Street). This is the location of the new school.

Entries:                       The deadline for entries is Monday September 24th – please email me

(Jlaitenberger@leroycsd.org) to let me know how many athletes you anticipate in each event.

Date:                           We host this meet the Saturday after McQuaid, so if you can not make it this year,

mark your calendar for next year – McQuaid is always the 4th Saturday after Labor Day, so we are the 5th Saturday after Labor Day.
